MUMBAI: Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor has reunited with her sons Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan as she fully recovers from coronavirus and tested negative on late Friday.
Taking to Instagram, the actor shared a message thanking her friends and family for supporting her as she remained in quarantine, with special mentions for her sister Karisma Kapoor and her husband Saif Ali Khan.
“Thank you to my darling sister for being our anchor through this nightmare… My BFF Amrita we did this… my darling friends and family, my Poonie, Naina, and everyone for praying… My fans for your DMs,” she wrote.
“And lastly my dear husband for being so patient to be locked in a hotel room, away from his family,” Kareena said and added, “Ok bye have to kiss my babies like never before.”
Earlier in the day, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had said that Kareena had tested negative for the new variant of coronavirus. A sample of her test was sent for genome sequencing amid the Omicron scare.
Earlier this month, Kareena and her best friend Amrita Arora tested positive for the virus, after attending a dinner. Seema Khan and Maheep Kapoor, who were present at the gathering, were also diagnosed with Covid-19.
Currently, Kareena is gearing up for the release of Laal Singh Chaddha, a remake of the Hollywood hit Forrest Gump. The film, directed by Advait Chandan of Secret Superstar fame, stars Aamir Khan in the titular role. It also marks the Bollywood debut of Telugu star Naga Chaitanya and is slated for a theatrical release on April 14, 2022.
