Late at night in Karachi, a collision between a dumper and a trailer resulted in the deaths of two people and injuries to one person. This is another addition to the accidents caused by dumpers in the country’s largest city.
In a similar accident near Malir Court in Karachi, a citizen lost his life, and another was injured after being hit by a trailer. An increase in accidents involving trailers and dumpers is being observed in Karachi.
According to the police, the deceased motorcyclist has been identified as Amir, while the injured person is named Sajid. After the accident, the trailer driver fled, abandoning the vehicle. In previous incidents of this nature, enraged citizens have even set dumpers on fire.
The bereaved family stated that the deceased Amir was the brother-in-law of the injured Sajid. They were returning to Quaidabad after dropping their cousin at Cantt Station on motorcycles when a speeding trailer collided with their bike.
Amir, who lost his life, was born deaf and mute and had gotten married just a few months ago. Many families are mourning due to deaths caused by dumpers. Meanwhile, Muhammad Shakir, who was injured in an accident near Karsaz on Shahrah-e-Faisal, succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Shakir had crashed his motorcycle into the rear end of a dumper, resulting in damage to his motorcycle as well. According to the police, the victim’s family took his body from Jinnah Hospital without any legal proceedings.
Some media reports indicate that in the first two months of this year, 119 people have lost their lives in traffic accidents in Karachi. Among the deceased, 87 were men, 16 were women, 12 were boys, and 4 were girls۔
