KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts varying intensities of rainfall in Karachi and parts of Sindh on Friday evening/night.
According to the current synoptic situation, a shallow westerly wave is present over Balochistan and is expected to approach the western regions of the country.
These conditions are likely to result in predominantly cold and dry weather across most parts of the province in the next two days. However, there is a possibility of partly cloudy weather with light rain/drizzle in Jacobabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Qamber Shahdad Kot, Jamshoro, Dadu, Ghotki, Khairpur, Karachi, Naushahro Feroze, and surrounding areas on Friday evening/night.
Dense fog/smog is expected to persist in Jacobabad, Mohenjodaro, Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, Ghotki, Khairpur, and Padidan during morning and night hours.
In Karachi, the minimum temperature is expected to range between 13-15 degrees Celsius on Saturday and 14-16 C on Sunday. Similarly, in Hyderabad, the minimum temperature is forecasted to be between 09-11 C on Saturday and 10-12 C on Sunday.
In the past 24 hours, cold and dry weather dominated Sindh, with Jacobabad and Khairpur experiencing light rain. Fog disrupted normal vehicular movement in upper districts during the night and early morning. Sukkur recorded the lowest temperature in Sindh at 05 C, with a morning relative humidity of 85 per cent. In Karachi, the minimum temperature was 13 C, with a morning relative humidity of 67 per cent. In Hyderabad, the minimum temperature was 09 C, with a morning relative humidity of 81 per cent.
