Karachi shopkeeper’s unique Ramadan package, selling goods without profit

KARACHI: Even today there is no dearth of people in the world who are busy serving people without any personal interest, such people are an example for our society. At a time when everyone is thinking just for own interest some people are busy in the welfare of others. Similarly, a savings stall has been organized by Astana Chishtiya on Rita Plot in Shah Faisal Colony for the convenience of the poor people, in which all the items are being sold without profit.

MM News team reached Chishtiya Shah Faisal Colony to find out the truth in this regard. On this occasion, the owner of the shop said that he sells these goods at on no loss no profit basis jus to provide relief to the poor in Ramadan.

He said that he got 10kg flour bag at Rs. 1310 including the cast of labor and transportation, while he sells it on the same rate without any profit. He said that he is in talks with a flour mill owner and who has promised him that he will provide flour on lower price. “When I will get the flour on lower price than I will provide it to the poor on lower rate,” he said.

He said that they are selling a bottle of Norus beverage at Rs 240, while it is being sold at Rs. 280 to Rs.300 in the market. The owner of the stall said that other shopkeepers are also cooperating with them in this regard, while their own volunteers’ have also collected Rs. 0.8 million for purchasing goods for this stall.  

The owner of the stall said that he had a problem of proper space for this work, earlier he used to do it on the street, now a family has provided him their home.   

 “If I get a bigger place, God willing, I can do even better, because I have the help of Allah,” he said and appealed to the mill owners to provide them different good on low price so it could be provided to the poor on the same low rat.

On this occasion, the citizens said that the people of Astana Chishtiya are doing a very good job, providing relief to the poor, their administration is also doing a good job. They prayed that Allah the Almighty gives them the ability to do more good work.
