The night of Thursday and Friday in Karachi ended in the cold blood of street thugs who assassinated a father of two who worked as a food delivery worker on the Jauhar Chowrangi Flyover. But after that, a mob encircled the robbers and lynched one of them while the other ran away.
According to authorities, the robbers also opened fire at a police team rushing to the scene.
Ali Rehbar, aged 38, was passing through Jauhar Chowrangi Flyover late Thursday night when he was accosted by robbers who fatally shot him for resisting, as per police sources.
During the altercation, a stray bullet struck and wounded another individual named Irfan.

Subsequently, a crowd gathered on the flyover post-shooting and proceeded to fatally assault one of the robbers, while his accomplice managed to escape, stated the police. Shells from 9mm and 30mm firearms were recovered from the crime scene, according to an official statement.
Furthermore, it was later revealed that the fleeing robbers had also exchanged gunfire with a police team from Madadgar 15 responding to the incident.
Ali Rehbar, a resident of Gulshan-e-Iqbal and a father of two, was tragically pronounced dead at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, Karachi’s main hospital, his grieving 70-year-old father informed reporters.
