Residents of Karachi are compelled to purchase the costliest flour in Pakistan, with a 20-kilogram bag being sold for as much as Rs. 1,800 in the city.
According to documents from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the price of a 20kg flour bag in Karachi is up to Rs. 420 higher than in Lahore and Rs. 300 more than in Peshawar.
The data shows that compared to Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Quetta, the same bag costs up to Rs. 200 more in Karachi, while compared to Sukkur, the price difference reaches Rs. 440.
As per the report, the average prices for a 20kg flour bag in other cities are as follows:
Islamabad and Rawalpindi: up to Rs. 1,600
Lahore: Rs. 1,380
Faisalabad and Gujranwala: Rs. 1,400
Sialkot: Rs. 1,427
Sargodha, Multan, and Bahawalpur: up to Rs. 1,467
