KARACHI: Sindh’s capital Karachi recorded the coldest night of the winter this year on Wednesday, with the temperature dropping to 12 degrees Celsius.
Talking to the media recently, Director Meteorological Department Sardar Sarfraz said that the intensity of cold has increased in Karachi and last night was the coldest night of January 2024 in Karachi.

During the conversation with the media, Sardar Sarfraz said that last night the minimum temperature in Karachi fell to 12 degrees Celsius, which is the lowest temperature of January so far. The temperature was even lower in December.
During the conversation, the Director of the Meteorological Department said that the minimum temperature in December was 11.5 degrees Celsius while last year the minimum temperature was 6 degrees Celsius on January 14. It will remain cold for some time.
Sardar Sarfaraz said that the cold weather in Karachi is likely to last for two to three more weeks. In the next 3 to 4 days, the cold may intensify. The minimum temperature may drop to 10 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the Department of Meteorology has predicted that the weather in Karachi is likely to remain dry and cold during the next 1 day, while the intensity of cold may increase more than usual in the morning and night hours.
The minimum temperature in Karachi on Wednesday will be between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature during the day will be between 25 and 27 degrees Celsius. Winds are blowing from the northeast direction in the city.
