Parts of Karachi received heavy rain with thunderstorms as predicted by the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
According to PMD, partly cloudy conditions are expected to persist, with high humidity levels contributing to uncomfortable conditions.
In Malir, Gulshan-e-Hadid, Memon Goth, Shah Latif Town, Razzaqabad, and Bhains Colony, intermittent rain showers brought significant relief from the humidity.
Meanwhile, North Karachi, North Nazimabad, Manghopir, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Saddar, and Gulshan-e-Iqbal witnessed intense rain with gusty winds, causing temporary disruption in traffic flow and raising concerns about urban flooding.
The rain also extended to Steel Town, Pipri, Port Qasim, Ghaghar Phatak, Kathore, Gadap, M-9 Motorway, and areas surrounding the Karachi Airport. Reports indicate that flight schedules were partially affected due to heavy rainfall near the airport vicinity.
Yesterday, PDMA Punjab said that Lahore airport area received 37mm rainfall in 24 hours.
A spokesman of the PDMA while sharing details of pre-monsoon rainfall in various districts of the province said that Lahore airport area received 37mm rainfall while the remaining city areas received 4mm rain.
PDMA stated that the rainfall at Noorpur Thall recorded 29mm, Rawalpindi 14mm, Gujranwala 28mm, Sialkot 11mm, Mianwali 10mm, Hafizabad 9mm, Sargodha 5mm, Jhang 4mm, Joharabad, Gujrat and Kasur 1mm each, while light rain also received at Faisalabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sheikhupura and Narowal.
More rainfall is expected in Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Multan, Bahawalpur, Sargodha and Sahiwal, according to the PDMA.
