Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Sindh Solid Waste Management Board, Water Corporation, Commissioner Karachi, Deputy Commissioners, and 25 Town Chairmen made only claims, and there were no significant measures taken for water drainage.
Sewers overflowed in various places, and the drain in Shadman Town overflowed, making the roads look like streams. Rainwater accumulated in several places on Shahrah-e-Faisal.
Just a few millimeters of rain changed the landscape of Karachi, causing severe difficulties for citizens in commuting. Rainwater accumulated in the main streets as well as in the neighborhoods. In many areas, electricity disappeared with the first drop of rain. The city’s system became disrupted after the rain, and the government’s claims dissolved into thin air.
