Karachi police fatally shot two kidnappers in the city’s Defense Housing Authority (DHA) Phase 7 area during a dramatic exchange of crossfire. The suspects had reportedly abducted a citizen, who was successfully rescued unharmed following a swift police operation.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of South, Asad Raza, confirmed the operation’s success, stating that the abductee was freed without injury. He also mentioned that a vehicle, weapons, and other evidence were seized from the deceased kidnappers during the operation.
In another recent case of swift police action, in June of this year, Sindh police arrested five individuals involved in a kidnapping incident near Naudero bypass road, Larkana. The police rescued a woman who had been abducted just days before, following a complaint filed by her maternal uncle. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Larkana confirmed that the woman was safely recovered, and the operation marked a successful intervention by law enforcement.
Earlier, in January, Karachi police made significant progress in the fight against kidnappings. Four alleged kidnappers were arrested in Keamari, where two girls were freed from captivity. The recovery report was subsequently submitted to the Sindh High Court, which expressed satisfaction with the outcome and ordered legal action against the suspects.
These recent operations highlight the ongoing efforts by police across Sindh to combat kidnapping and other criminal activities, providing relief to the victims and ensuring justice is served. Investigations into the motives behind these abductions are continuing.
