KARACHI: All individuals implicated in the kidnapping and murder case of seven-year-old Sarim have been conditionally released from police custody.
The investigation into the tragic death of Sarim, whose body was discovered in a water tank 11 days after he went missing from North Karachi, has yet to yield any leads, even after 50 days have elapsed since the incident.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police for the West region indicated that the evidence, circumstances, and events surrounding the case do not correspond with the findings of the post-mortem report, which indicates that Sarim was likely murdered five days following his abduction.
In an effort to resolve the case, forensic experts will be engaged, and senior police officials have requested the establishment of a forensic board as directed by the Inspector General of Sindh.
In the meantime, all individuals who were detained in relation to the case have been released under the condition that they remain within the city, as stated by Irfan Baloch.
