In Karachi, police arrested 4 professional laborer suspects involved in short-term kidnapping, as reported by national media on Friday.
According to details, after an encounter with Noor Jehan Street police in Karachi, the arrested kidnappers turned out to be a welder, carpenter, marble polisher, and barber. The suspects only used to kidnap people from the middle class.
SSP Central Zeeshan Siddiqui stated that among the arrested suspects are a barber, welder, carpenter, and marble polisher. The four laborers had formed a gang and used to carry out incidents by impersonating law enforcement officers.
Officials said the suspects targeted only the middle class. The suspects used to call sugarcane juice vendors, small traders, street hawkers, or anyone by posing as officers, would put them in their vehicle, and roam them around various areas. The suspects used to demand ransom from the victim’s families ranging from 20,000 to 100,000 rupees and then release them.
SSP Central said one suspect was a former PQ officer. The suspect arranged police uniforms for himself and other accomplices. In one case, the suspects also looted a person who came to pay the ransom. The suspects had rented a car for kidnapping for ransom.
The SSP said the suspects targeted the middle class so that complaints would not be made. The suspects include Ashar, Kamran, Irfan, and Danial. After hearing about the arrest of the suspects, many victims reached the police station.
