A man was killed during a robbery in Karachi’s Bhens Colony area on Friday, as street crimes continue into the new year, as reported by national media.
According to a report by ARY News on Friday, police said the victim, Athar, was shot in the chest by robbers after he resisted their attempt to rob him.
The incident occurred while Athar and his brother-in-law were riding a motorcycle. The robbers tried to stop them, but after finding no valuables, they shot Athar and fled.
The body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal procedures, and police have launched an investigation.
In a separate robbery incident, a 55-year-old man named Amin was injured while resisting a robbery in Nazimabad No. 3. He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.
It is worth mentioning that at least 105 people were victims of street crime in Karachi in 2024.
