In the 24th match of Pakistan Super League 2025 played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, Karachi Kings defeated Lahore Qalandars by four wickets using the Duckworth-Lewis (DLS) method.
According to details, Karachi Kings won the toss and chose to bowl first in the match played on Sunday night, a decision that proved successful for them. Lahore Qalandars scored 160 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Karachi Kings chased the target aggressively and scored 168 runs in just 14.3 overs to secure the victory.
The overall run rate of the match was 11.59, indicating a fast-paced contest between the two teams. From Karachi Kings, young batter Irfan Khan Niazi delivered an outstanding performance and scored an unbeaten 48 runs off just 21 balls, earning the “Player of the Match” title.
His innings included two fours and five sixes. Captain David Warner also gave an aggressive start, scoring 24 runs off 13 balls. Wicketkeeper-batter Tim Seifert played a blistering innings of 24 runs off 10 balls. Other notable batters included Saad Baig with 25, Mohammad Nabi with 15, and Khushdil Shah with 9 runs.
In Lahore Qalandars’ bowling lineup, Haris Rauf and Daryl Mitchell took two wickets each, while Rishad Hussain and Asif Afridi took one wicket each. However, Qalandars’ fast bowler Shaheen Afridi could not take any wickets and conceded 41 runs in three overs.
Earlier, Lahore Qalandars’ batting performance was generally unimpressive. Players like Mohammad Naeem, Abdullah Shafique, and Daryl Mitchell failed to score big. Karachi Kings’ bowlers bowled with excellent line and length and continuously took wickets, halting Qalandars’ progress.
With this victory, Karachi Kings have strengthened their position on the points table, while Lahore Qalandars suffered another disappointing defeat. The traditional rivalry between the two teams and the full house at Gaddafi Stadium made the match memorable.
