The Karachi administration has imposed a temporary ban on sea bathing during the Eid-ul-Adha holidays to ensure public safety, according to media reports.
The restriction, enforced under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code, will remain in effect from June 6 to June 13, 2025.
The ban applies to several popular coastal spots, including KANNUP Beach, Sunerah Beach, Mubarak Village, Turtle Beach, and Dua Chowk Beach. Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi said that the measure is a precautionary step to prevent accidents and safeguard the public amid potentially hazardous sea conditions.
Law enforcement agencies have been directed to take strict action against individuals violating the order under Section 195(i)(a) and Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Authorities have emphasized that the restriction is temporary and may be extended if dangerous weather or sea conditions continue. Citizens are strongly advised to comply with the directive and refrain from visiting restricted beach areas during the specified period.
The administration has appealed for public cooperation to ensure a safe and incident-free Eid holiday along Karachi’s coastline.
