A fire has broken out at a shopping mall located on Rashid Minhas Road in Karachi. Upon receiving the report, rescue personnel arrived at the scene.
According to details, the fire started on the third floor of the shopping mall and continued to spread. The rescue spokesperson stated that the fire initially broke out in the surveillance room.
The spokesperson further said that the fire engulfed the building of the shopping mall and several shops inside it. Six fire tenders are engaged in extinguishing the fire.
Due to the fire, residents of the residential building adjacent to the shopping mall evacuated the premises. No casualties have been reported as a result of the fire incident.
It is worth noting that this is not the first fire incident in Karachi—fires frequently occur in shopping malls and factories across various areas of the city.
However, safety arrangements for the protection of Karachi’s residents are almost negligible. Authorities state that implementing safety measures in affected buildings, including shopping malls, is the need of the hour to control such fire incidents.
