Karachi was jolted once again by an earthquake on Monday night — the eighth tremor within 24 hours — sparking fear and concern among residents.
The latest quake was felt at 8:49 PM, prompting many people to rush out of their homes reciting prayers in a state of panic.
According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake measured 3.0 on the Richter scale, with a depth of 13 kilometers. Its epicenter was located approximately 30 kilometers east of DHA Karachi.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) confirmed that no casualties or property damage have been reported so far. However, light tremors may continue over the next two days as part of an ongoing aftershock sequence.
The seismic activity reportedly began the previous evening, with the strongest jolt recorded at 3.2 magnitude during this period.
Experts have attributed the tremors to natural tectonic activity and advised the public not to panic, as such aftershocks are a common occurrence following minor earthquakes.
