In a tragic and horrifying incident in the Ibrahim Hyderi area of Karachi, police have arrested three individuals who allegedly removed the gold earrings of an eight-month-old baby and threw her into a manhole.
According to the police, the arrested suspects have been identified as Allah Dino, Kamran, and Shaukat. During the investigation, all three confessed that they removed the baby’s gold earrings and threw her into the manhole.
According to a report, officials stated that it was by the grace of God that the baby was found alive, as her neck remained above the water level in the manhole, preventing her from drowning.
The baby’s father had reported her missing to the police a day earlier, after which the police succeeded in recovering her. Police officers further stated that the search for a fourth accomplice involved in the crime is ongoing.
The suspects confessed that they targeted the baby solely out of greed for her gold earrings, and after committing the act, they threw the earrings near the manhole while fleeing in fear of the police.
Taking serious notice of this horrific crime, the Interior Minister of Sindh has ordered a detailed investigation into the incident. This incident raises serious concerns about child safety and the increasing street crimes in Karachi, with growing demands for strict action by law enforcement agencies in sensitive areas.
