Actor turned director Rishab Shetty who starred in Kantara movie has announced its sequel.
The actor has confirmed the release of the highly anticipated movie ‘Kantara 2’ in 2024 across the globe. Speaking to the media, Rishab Shetty shocked the press when he stated that ‘Kantara’ was supposedly the second part of the series.
Rishab added that the idea for the film came to his mind during the shooting of ‘Kantara’ because the history of Kantara still has more depth to unravel. The filmmaker said that currently, they are midway into discovering more details. Kantara 2 will be bankrolled by Homable Films.

The movie was made with a small budget of Rs 16 crore and successfully earned over INR 450 crores in collections. Dubbed in five languages, the movie was released in September 2022.
Kantara depicted the story of a small community inhabiting the woods of Kadabettu, Karnataka. The plot showcased the culture of Kambala and Bhootha Kola. A human and nature conflict where Shiva is a rebel who defends his village and nature.
Moreover, the Kannada ecological drama earned two Oscar qualifications along with RRR, another South Indian movie. The 95th Academy Awards will be held on March 12 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
