LAHORE: Justice Mamoon Rashid Sheikh on Wednesday was sworn in as the 49th Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court today during a ceremony in Governor House.
Justice Mamnoon Sheikh has replaced the outgoing Justice Sardar Muhammad Shamim Khan who retired earlier on Tuesday. Justice Sheikh will hold office till his retiremen on 18th March, 2020.
The oath-taking ceremony was attended by Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, high court judges, government officials and representatives of lawyers’ bodies were present on the occasion.
Justice Sardar Muhammad Shamim Khan who retired earlier, while addressing a full court reference at the high court premises in his honor said that he was honoured to head the LHC.
