Journalist slammed for objecting to woman yoga on TV

MM News Staff by MM News Staff
September 22, 2020

KARACHI: A renowned journalist Ansar Abbasi has landed himself in hot water as he criticised out a woman exercising on a national TV channel.

Abbasi shared a video on his Twitter account in which a woman is seen doing a workout session on national television PTV. He also tagged Prime Minister Imran Khan, Asim Bajwa, and Shibli Faraz in the video.

Just after he posted the video, Abbasi faced massive criticism; even Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry lashed out at him and said if such exercise makes you feel uncomfortable, then he needs psychic therapy.

If Even an exercise session and women picture on advertisement boards makes you feel amorous, you really need psychic therapy and advice….. https://t.co/1Xb9tDwr5R

— Ch Fawad Hussain (@fawadchaudhry) September 22, 2020

Moreover, anchor Maria Memon also tweeted that the way she sees it, PTV is teaching women basic home work out routine.

The way I see it, PTV is teaching women basic home work out routine so they can take care of their health. https://t.co/iuPt1ubdlw

— Maria Memon (@Maria_Memon) September 21, 2020

Most of the people bashed the journalist and called him n extremist, and schooled him:

You sound like a predator. It’s because of men like this that SHE’S NOT EVEN EXERCISING PROPERLY. like you can see how conscious she is, that shes not lifting properly, because she knows men like Ansar Abbasi are a dime a dozen. Do you say this to your daughter, as well? https://t.co/swIKrdpZyG

— Cats, Curls, Chai (@NoushinZora) September 22, 2020

Ansar Abbasi when was last time you got yourself checked? For mentality https://t.co/HQA8tOyUqA

— Taimoor H. ???? (@Thashns) September 22, 2020

And what exactly is wrong with a woman exercising on Television? Apparently Ansar Abbasi thinks something is.

— Hamzah Rifaat (@MonolithicAmz) September 22, 2020

Ansar Abbasi sahab objecting to a woman exercising reflects the deeply embedded sickness in our society. The objective is simple: invisibilize women. They dont want women doing anything: working, studying.. apparently not even exercising. Only problem is them & their sick minds.

— Imaan Zainab Mazari-Hazir (@ImaanZHazir) September 22, 2020

I would be nervous letting a pervert like Ansar Abbasi watch a Pakistan women’s cricket World Cup match

— St. Aubrun (@st_aubrun) September 22, 2020

Ansar Abbasi has no issue when Taliban openly use religion as tool for killing & pushing the sick derivative and will defend them till turning blue in the face. This has nothing to with Islam. Its pure, 100% hypocrisy…

— Usman M Syed (@usmansm) September 22, 2020

However, few of them, supported the stance of the journalist, by expressing he raised a righteous point:

“Ansar Abbasi” I agree with your opinion and thought which you have describe about women who are doing exercise that it is PTV so gov’t should avoid these types vulgarity poses which have shows that lady we no need of these types vulgarity poses at National TV I hope do best https://t.co/le7YSedWL9

A feminist can never understand what Ansar Abbasi is trying to say. Madam!! This is Pakistan, made in the name of Islam. You want to normalize such things but the general public will never allow this bullshit. Feminist like u are hardly 1% of Pakistan’s population

— | Patriot ???????? | (@abidkhan_my) September 22, 2020

Ansar Abbasi sir I agree with you,u have raised a important issue, don’t pay heed to the filth the desi liberals r utthering about u.Islam gives respect to the women, but these desi liberals treat them as a toy.@AnsarAAbbasi

— Asad Rumi (@rumi_asad) September 22, 2020

Ansar abbasi sb rightfully mentioned the immoral activities going on National TV for which we pay. We don’t pay PTV to air such filthy stuff if you don’t have any worthy content then Shut down and pay back the TaxPayers Money. #IamAnsarAbbasi https://t.co/1kVaBuBNF2
