ISLAMABAD: Journalist and YouTuber Jameel Farooqui has been arrested in Karachi for allegedly making false allegations against Islamabad Police regarding the torture of PTI leader Shahbaz Gill, according to reports on Monday.
The Islamabad Police, in a statement, confirmed that Bol’s news journalist Jameel Farooqui was taken into custody after a case was filed against him at the Ramna Police Station.
Bol News also confirmed the news of its journalist’s arrest.

According to the police, he had falsely accused the Islamabad Police in his v-log that the police had physically and sexually assaulted Shehbaz Gill.
The police had indicated action against those making inflammatory, fabricated and false allegations, the statement added.
Journalists, politicians, and civil society widely condemned the PDM government’s harassment of Journalist.
Reacting to the news, senior journalist Amir Zia tweeted “Arrest of #BolNews young anchorperson & journalist #JameelFarooqi is highly condemnable. Former Deputy Speaker of National Assembly and PTI leader Qasim Suri condemned the arrest of Jameel Farooqi, saying government is targeting those media persons who show mirror to the ‘Imported government’.
