In an important development in the investigation of the Jinnah House Lahore attack case, the police on Wednesday declared 22 senior leaders of PTI proclaimed offenders (POs).
Those declared POs included Mian Aslam Iqbal, Murad Saeed, Andleeb Abbas, Ahmad Niazi, Farrukh Habib, Zubair Niazi, Ali Amin Gandapur, and Hammad Azhar. Â
The police said these leaders did not appear for questioning despite summons.
Thousands of people took to the streets in different parts of the country on May 9 to vent their anger at the arrest of former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
They ransacked military and government buildings to register their protest. In some instances, even memorials of the martyrs of the Pakistan Army were either demolished or damaged.
