Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ex-wife, Jemima Goldsmith, on Tuesday slammed Pakistani government for keeping Imran Khan in a dark solitary cell.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the mother of Imran Khan’s sons, voiced her concerns about his treatment in prison.
She said Pakistani authorities have restricted his contact with family and legal counsel, stopping all visits and weekly calls to their sons in London. Jemima claimed that the authorities are torturing Imran Khan by completely isolating him.

Jemima noted that in June this year the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention found that Imran is unlawfully and arbitrarily detained and called for his immediate release.
Meanwhile, Dr. Asim Hussain, Imran Khan’s personal physician, was denied access to examine the former prime minister on Tuesday. When Dr. Hussain got at Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, he had to depart before being checked out.
Imran, 72, has been in jail since August 2023, though multiple convictions against him have been overturned.
