Chairman of the Zalmi Foundation and owner of Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Peshawar Zalmi, Javed Afridi, has announced a contribution of Rs50 million in support of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
He announced this via a social media post on X on Sunday.
Afridi wrote that the donation is being made in honor of the bravery and sacrifice of Pakistan’s armed forces. He acknowledged their role in defending the country’s sovereignty and expressed appreciation for their continued resilience and commitment.
The contribution is being made through the Zalmi Foundation, which has previously engaged in various social development initiatives across the country, including sports academies and cricket tournaments.
On the other hand, Punjab Assembly on Sunday passed a resolution to pay tribute to the heroes of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos.
The resolution was submitted by ruling party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) member Hina Pervaiz Butt. The text of the resolution commended the unparalleled military prowess of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF). It also labeled the operation as a golden example of thwarting the enemy’s intentions.
