Jasmeen Manzoor torture: Ex-husband’s second wife labels photos as ‘fake’

Renowned Pakistani news anchor Jasmeen Manzoor, who previously accused her ex-husband Saad Rafiq of domestic violence, has now become embroiled in a new controversy.

The situation escalated after Jasmeen Manzoor shared alleged images of physical abuse, prompting a strong rebuttal from Anum Hassan, the current wife of Saad Rafiq, who dismissed the images as fabricated.

In a video posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Anum claimed that Saad and Jasmine were married in 2019, and the marriage lasted only four years.

She stated that Saad is nearly 20 years younger than Jasmeen Manzoor and that his family, particularly his father, never approved of the union. According to her, the wedding took place at Jasmine’s residence and was not attended by Saad’s family.

Anum further alleged that Saad realized he had been “trapped” but still chose to stand by his decision. Refuting the authenticity of the pictures shared by Jasmeen, Anum said the swollen eye seen in the image was a result of plastic surgery, not violence.

She claimed the photo dated back to December 2023 and had no connection to any abuse. Anum also cited social media users who questioned the credibility of Jasmeen Manzoor’s claims.

On the other hand, Jasmeen Manzoor maintains that she was the victim of a “honey trap.” She accused Saad Rafiq of living in her house, taking nearly Rs. 50 million from her, and engaging in joint business ventures. According to Jasmine, when she demanded repayment, Saad relocated to Rawalpindi. In her posts, she also alleged the first incident of violence occurred while she was in a state of ihram during pilgrimage.

The emergence of these images has sparked debate online. While Jasmine continues to raise her voice against abuse, Anum Hassan’s counterclaims have added complexity to an already heated issue.

The photo of Jasmeen with a visibly swollen eye has drawn emotional reactions from followers, while Anum insists the intent behind sharing it is misleading and deceptive.
