In the disqualification case, Jamshed Dasti’s lawyer argued before the Election Commission that Jamshed Dasti completed his FA in 2020. The Sindh member inquired, “When did Jamshed Dasti complete his BA?” The lawyer replied that Jamshed Dasti completed his BA in 2017. The KP member questioned, “Did he do BA first and then FA?”
According to details, the Election Commission heard the disqualification case of Jamshed Dasti. A three-member bench headed by Sindh Member Nisar Durrani conducted the hearing. The KP member asked whether Jamshed Dasti had any property that was not disclosed to the Election Commission.
The petitioner’s lawyer responded that yes, there is such property which was not mentioned in the nomination papers. Jamshed Dasti wrote FA as his education on the nomination papers, but he is not even matric-pass. The Balochistan member asked, “What if someone is illiterate?”
The KP member asked, “Are you saying he lied?” The petitioner’s lawyer responded, “Yes, he lied, and also submitted an affidavit regarding the FA.” Jamshed Dasti’s lawyer said that the petitioner was a candidate in the general election. The KP member asked, “Are there any documents stating that Jamshed Dasti’s educational documents are fake?”
Jamshed Dasti’s lawyer repeated that he did FA in 2020. The Sindh member asked, “When did he do BA?” The lawyer replied, “In 2017.” The KP member asked, “Did he do BA first and then FA?” The Balochistan member asked, “You did BA in 2017, but then which FA certificate was submitted at that time?”
Jamshed Dasti said, “I did Matric and FA from Karachi Board.” The petitioner’s lawyer said that the Matric certificate is from D.G. Khan and it is fake — the board has confirmed this as well. His FA from Sindh has no registration number and no migration certificate either. The Sindh member said that the Election Commission will get Matric and FA verified from the Karachi Board. The Election Commission has reserved the verdict in the Jamshed Dasti case.
