In Karachi, the ancient religious institution, Jamia Islamia Makhzan Al-Uloom, distributed pushcarts and fruits among 15 deserving and underprivileged individuals from their families in the second phase of the employment scheme.
The ceremony to distribute stipends and fruits among the eligible individuals was held at the auditorium of Jamia Islamia Makhzan Al-Uloom near Banaras Chowk. It was attended by various social figures including Masroor Ahmed Sheikh, Chairman of the Sindh Technical Education Board; distinguished urologist Dr. Abdul Majid Rana; Tariq Niazi; prominent industrialist Haji Ashraf Dad; Haji Muhammad Barki, and Ihtesham ul Haq.
The registration of eligible individuals for the distribution of fruits and pushcarts under the employment scheme was carried out according to the prescribed procedures of the Department of General Agriculture at Jamia Mahzar Al-Uloom. Prior to this, in the first phase of the employment scheme, 10 eligible individuals were provided with stipends and fruits.
During the ceremony, Masroor Sheikh and Dr. Abdul Majid Rana praised the manifold services in various educational and agricultural departments of Jamia Mahzar Al-Uloom. They also praised the efforts of the university’s organizer, Dr. Qasim Mahmood.
They mentioned that arranging employment opportunities for the poor and deserving individuals in dire economic conditions from a religious institution is actually a result of the teachings of serving humanity in the religion of Islam.
They highlighted that Islam instructs us to take care of not only our neighbors but also to ensure the welfare and aid for those suffering within society. Jamia Mahzar Al-Uloom initiated this blessed series of providing employment for the unemployed, demonstrating the teachings of the faith through action.
Dr. Qasim Mahmood, the organizer of the university, mentioned during the ceremony that it’s the responsibility of every individual in the country, particularly in difficult economic situations, to take care of those facing hardships within their families, neighbors, friends, and society.
He emphasized that getting the country out of economic crises is not only the responsibility of governments and states but it’s also the responsibility of each citizen to make efforts, in accordance with their resources, to solve problems.
He expressed that while our efforts might be minimal in the face of challenges and issues, it’s our duty, in accordance with our capabilities, to step forward to alleviate the problems of our people.
He encouraged everyone to join hands and work together, ensuring the betterment of our nation in this challenging situation and urged the prosperous individuals to help the poor with the wealth provided by Allah.
