IT holds immense potential in country’s economy: President

ISLAMABAD: President Dr. Arif Alvi has said that Information Technology (IT) held immense potential in the country’s economy.
While chairing the 1st meeting of the board of governors, National Information Technology Board (NITB) at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, President Dr. Arif Alvi said that the IT possessed the endless potential and all-out efforts must be made to incorporate modern technologies in various sectors.
The president said that the socio-economic development of the country was linked with the development of IT and the empowerment of NITB under the new ordinance would intensify its efforts for the conversion of public sector organizations to e-governance to ensure better service delivery.

Earlier on 11th December, Arif Alvi has said that the new era was all about research and education. While addressing at the COMSATS University, Dr. Arif Alvi was quoted saying that we must move from a produce-consume-waste society towards a retain-conserve and save paradigm.
