LAHORE: Islamabad United’s opener Alex Hales has pulled out of the remainder of Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) seventh edition.
According to details, the Englishman has withdrawn from the rest of the tournament due to personal reasons. “We wish him very best of luck for his future,” the franchise’s management said in a statement.
Hales has been in sublime form for United and is also their leading run-scorer in the competition. In seven innings, he has scored 255 at an average of 42.50.
Yesterday, Quetta Gladiators’ Ben Duckett also withdrew from the competition due to personal reasons. Earlier, United also lost Ireland’s Paul Stirling, who left HBL PSL 7 due to international duties.
Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz will also leave United on February 19 due to the series in Bangladesh. Meanwhile, skipper Shadab Khan, Zeehan Zameer and Muhammad Akhlaq are suffering injuries.
Medical reports are expected to be released by today afternoon. Khan is suffering a groin injury, while Zameer and Akhlaq have side and leg injuries.
