The final of Pakistan Super League will be played between Islamabad United and Multan Sultans in Karachi tomorrow.
The match will start at 9:00 pm.
Earlier, Islamabad United defeated Peshawar Zalmi by five wickets in the Eliminator 2 of the Pakistan Super League in Karachi last night.
This is United’s first PSL final since 2018 and they will face Multan Sultans on March 18 at the same venue.
Batting first, Peshawar Zalmi scored 185 runs for the loss of five wickets in allotted twenty overs.
In reply, Islamabad United achieved the target in 19 overs.
The pursuit commenced with Zalmi’s spinners asserting dominance early on, claiming crucial wickets. Saim Ayub dismissed Alex Hales (1) and then removed Salman Ali Agha (5) in successive overs.
The emerging left-arm spinner further added to United’s woes by dismissing skipper Shadab Khan without scoring. Despite Martin Guptill’s aggressive innings of 34 runs, including 22 off Saim Ayub, his dismissal in the final over of the powerplay left United struggling at 50/4.
In dire need of stability, United found a savior in Imad Wasim. He first formed a partnership with Azam Khan and later with Haider Ali, anchoring the innings effectively.
