Additional Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Supra of the Islamabad District and Sessions Court on Monday issued production orders for PTI founder Imran Khan regarding six bail cases involving former Prime Minister and his wife, Bushra Bibi.
These appeals were lodged concerning bail pleas in six cases related to the May 9 violence and a Toshakhana fake receipts case respectively. Presiding over the hearing was Sessions Court Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra, with Imran’s counsel, Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry, present.
The orders were directed to the superintendent of Adiala jail, where both Imran and Bushra are currently held, as the jail authorities had failed to register Imran’s attendance via video link, despite the previous directive to do so during the last hearing.
In a separate development last week, similar orders were issued for Imran Khan and PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi in a case related to vandalism during the 2022 Azadi March. This case was registered at the Karachi Company police station.
Former First Lady Bushra Bibi faces accusations of illegally selling a valuable watch gifted to Imran by the Saudi Crown Prince during his tenure as Prime Minister. An FIR against Imran, Bushra, and PTI leader Zulfi Bukhari has been registered at Islamabad’s Kohsar police station under various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), including Section 420, for allegedly presenting counterfeit receipts related to transactions from the state’s gift repository, known as Toshakhana.
