Islamabad: A session court has ordered the arrest of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur in connection with allegations involving the possession of weapons and alcohol.
The court rejected Gandapur’s request for exemption from appearing in court on medical grounds and has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for him. The court has directed the Station House Officer (SHO) of Bara Kahu police station to arrest and present Gandapur in court by tomorrow.
The case dates back to October 30, 2016, when Gandapur was allegedly involved in an illegal gathering and violated orders issued by the District Magistrate. The court is seeking clarification on several key points, including Gandapur’s presence at the scene and his actions during the incident.
Arms and Liquor Case
A case was lodged against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader after the recovery of five Kalashnikov rifles, a pistol, six magazines, a bulletproof vest, three teargas shells, and bottles of alcohol in October 2016. At the time, Gandapur, who was serving as a provincial minister in KP, was charged under illegal arms and anti-drug laws after illicit arms and a bottle of liquor were allegedly recovered from his car.
