At least 60 people, including 12 US soldiers, have been killed and several others injured in two bomb blasts near Kabul airport in Afghanistan, while the Islamic State militant group has claimed responsibility for the bombings.
According to details, two explosions took place at Kabul Airport as a result of terrorism, the sound of which was heard far and wide. The blasts killed at least 60 people and injured more than 140 others who were taken to hospital. The bomber struck shortly afternoon in front of a U.S. military base, killing at least 12 people and wounding dozens more, according to Fox News. The 11 dead were from the US Marines.
One of the dead belonged to a US Navy medical team. The death toll from US troops and others is expected to rise. According to the Taliban, the blast killed a total of 13 to 20 people and injured several others.

The dead included women and children. Taliban guards were also injured in the terrorist attack. The Islamic State militant group has claimed responsibility for the bombing, calling it a suicide bombing.
The militant group ISIS said that its suicide bomber broke through a U.S. military security fence and blew himself up five meters inside. Pentagon spokesman John Kirby also confirmed the deaths.
According to US Commander General Kenneth Mackenzie, the evacuation process will continue despite terrorism at Kabul Airport. “Various aspects of terrorism are being investigated. We will ensure the security of the citizens in every possible way,” he added.
