ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has met with the officials of pharmaceutical companies in which it has been agreed to increase the price of paracetamol ‘Panadol’.
After a detailed meeting of the officials of the pharmaceutical companies with the finance minister, the Ministry of Finance has issued a statement, in which it is stated that the price of paracetamol was discussed with the officials of the companies and in the meeting, the price of Panadol Normal was discussed. It has been agreed to sell the tablet for Rs 2.35.

According to the announcement, it was agreed to increase the price of paracetamol extra and syrup. The government has approved half of the demand for increasing the rate of paracetamol extra and syrup and it has been approved to increase the price of paracetamol extra tablet to Rs 2.75 while the price of paracetamol syrup has been agreed to be fixed at Rs 117.60.
Earlier, leading pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline had decided to stop the production of Panadol tablets, the most widely used for fever, due to the alleged damage.
