Jim Morrison, the iconic lead singer of The Doors, is widely believed to have passed away on July 3, 1971, in Paris, due to heart failure.
Morrison was found dead in a bathtub in Paris, and he was buried before an autopsy was performed.
However, a new documentary series called “Before The End: Searching For Jim Morrison” suggests that Morrison may have faked his own death and is alive and well, living in Syracuse, New York.
The documentary presents an interview with a man named Frank, who bears a resemblance to Morrison and claims to be him.
Before The End is directed and narrated by Doors superfan Jeff Finn, who says that he’s been researching Morrison for 39 years. Finn also reportedly showed Frank’s photo to two of Morrison’s old girlfriends, who burst into tears at the resemblance. Finn also points out that Frank has a scar on his nose, in the same place that Morrison had a mole.
While this theory is intriguing, there’s no concrete evidence to support it, and most sources confirm Morrison’s death in 1971.
