TEHRAN: Spokesman for the Iranian Defense Ministry’s Space Group, Ahmad Hosseini said on Saturday Iran will soon launch its Zafar satellite at the earliest possible opportunity.
Earlier, the Iranian Minister of Information and Communications Technology Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi told that Tehran will launch the satellite prior to Saturday.
According to the authorities, the Simorgh carrier rocket and Zafar satellite have already been organized for the launch of the Imam Khomeini Space Center in the northern province of Semnan.
The Spokesman further said that the satellite would be launched as part of a scientific mission of the Defense Ministry’s Space Group.
Last year, Iran disastrous to launch several satellites into orbit. Several Western countries have condemned its space initiatives, calling it that Iran violates the UN Security Council Resolution 2231.
The United States had made several efforts that the document forbids Iran to launch rockets, while Russia also urges Tehran to refrain from the launching of the racket.
