Various countries around the world have termed the US retaliatory tariffs unnecessary and a threat, calling for their cancellation, as reported by international media.
According to different reports, US President Donald Trump has announced the imposition of retaliatory tariffs on various countries, prompting reactions from different nations.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has announced countermeasures against US tariffs, while Australia has termed the US retaliatory tariffs unnecessary. In this regard, the Italian Prime Minister stated that US tariffs on the European Union are wrong, while the Irish Prime Minister said that the European Union should give an appropriate response to the US tariffs.
Additionally, China has termed the US tariffs a threat to global economic growth and has demanded the immediate cancellation of the new tariffs. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce stated that the new tariffs would harm US interests and the global supply chain, urging the US to resolve trade disputes through its partners.
Meanwhile, the British Trade Minister said that despite US tariffs, the UK remains committed to an economic agreement with the US. According to news agencies, the Brazilian Parliament has approved a law to counter Trump’s tariffs.
On the other hand, the US Treasury Secretary has warned the world, urging countries to refrain from retaliatory measures against the imposed tariffs. The US Treasury Secretary further stated that he advises every country against taking countermeasures, as retaliation against US tariffs would escalate tensions.
