Instagram has launched a new video editing app called “Edits,” which mirrors many features of CapCut, owned by ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok.
Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, stated that “Edits” is designed for individuals passionate about creating videos on their phones.

The free “Edits” app allows users to edit videos up to 10 minutes long, with the capability to export videos from other devices to an iPhone for editing. After editing, users can share videos in up to 1080p (full HD) on any social media platform, including Instagram.
With “Edits,” users can fine-tune camera settings such as resolution, framerate, dynamic range, lighting, and zoom. It also offers various video templates, including AI-powered animations, to enhance content. Users can change backgrounds with a green screen or add a video overlay.
However, the app won’t be available for download until next month.
