ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri has said that India’s hegemonic designs and expansionist agenda were imperiling peace and stability in the region.
During his weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Friday, the spokesperson said “India’s unwillingness to resolve the longstanding issue of Jammu and Kashmir is the main impediment to bring durable peace in the region.”
Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said the whole world admits Kashmir as a disputed region, which should be resolved in light of UN resolutions.
He underlined the serious threat posed by RSS-BJP dispensation through belligerent actions, discriminatory measures against Indian minorities, and harshest steps to curb all the freedoms of innocent Kashmiris in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Zahid Hafeez said, “International media is exposing Indian atrocities and gross human rights in the occupied valley”. He said that the report highlighted the important points of Indian state terrorism and Pakistan’s long-standing position on globalization after the report came to light.
Pakistan had brought the evidence of India’s involvement in terrorism in the report, he said, adding that the evidence of Indian state terrorism has been taken seriously by the international community. “That is why the world is now talking openly about Indian-sponsored terrorism,” he maintained.
Despite all the efforts of India, discussions have taken place in international forums and media, he said, adding that the reports of the atrocities were also presented to the UN Secretary-General.
He strongly condemned the use of Afghan soil to target Pakistan’s military personnel and civilians, after a series of Rocket attacks.
“Such unprovoked incidents are against the spirit of mutual cooperation and are viewed with grave concern,” he said, adding that Pakistan had taken up the issue with Afghanistan through relevant diplomatic and military channels.
“Pakistan has always underscored the need to use existing mechanisms, including Afghanistan-Pakistan Action Plan for Peace and Security (APAPPS) to address all issues,” he said.
