A new statement has emerged regarding the Indian woman who fell in love with a Pakistani man, left her two children behind in India, and came to Pakistan.
After living in Pakistan for four months, she returned to India, but her recent remarks shed light on her future plans.
Last July, Anju, who traveled from India to Pakistan to marry Nasrullah, a young man from Dir, has once again made headlines. After converting to Islam and adopting the name Fatima, Anju has reappeared in the Indian media nine months after returning to India.
Anju Fatima had embraced Islam, leaving behind her Christian faith, to marry her Muslim friend Nasrullah. Following her return to India, there were widespread speculations that she would sever ties with Nasrullah and possibly return to her previous life and family.
However, in a recent statement to Indian media, Fatima Anju has vehemently denied these speculations, affirming that she is still married to Nasrullah and deeply in love with him.
Fatima expressed that she eagerly awaits Nasrullah’s arrival in India and is actively trying to bring him to her. She clarified that her departure from Pakistan was done through proper legal processes, and she had always planned to return.
In response to a question about Seema Haider, another Indian woman who fled to Pakistan with her children and jewelry, Fatima labeled Seema a “runaway” and stated that there is no comparison between them. She emphasized that she did not leave in secrecy or commit any theft, but rather, she had always been a self-reliant woman who informed her family of her intentions and followed legal procedures.
Fatima further asserted that if she had fled secretly, she would never have returned to India, just as Seema has vowed never to return to Pakistan.
She also mentioned that her children are now with her, and it was her ex-husband who brought them to her. Looking ahead, she stated that if they are unable to live together in India, she and Nasrullah might consider relocating to a third country in the future.
