An incident of recording video in the washroom came to light at the Nitte Institute of Medical Sciences in the city of Udupi, Karnataka, India.
Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against three female students of the college, alleging that they recorded a video of other students in the washroom. The FIR also includes the college administration’s name, invoking various sections of the IT Act, including 509, 204, 175, 34, and 66 (E).
Additionally, a person named Kalu Singh Chauhan has also been charged in the case. This individual had previously released a fake video claiming it to be from the medical college.
The incident of recording the video in the medical college’s washroom came to light on 18th July, between 12:30 pm and 3:00 pm. On 20th July, when the matter gained attention and protests arose in the college, the police took action.
According to the college administration, the girls involved initially made the video as a prank, but when the situation became serious, all three involved students deleted the video and apologized to the affected student.
