Colonel Amit Kumar of the Indian Army has accused senior military officers of sexually assaulting his wife, alleging that predatory elements exist within the ranks of the armed forces.
Last month, several videos were posted from Colonel Amit Kumar’s account on the social media platform X, in which he claimed that his wife had been subjected to sexual violence by fellow officers.
In one of the videos, his visibly distressed wife directly accused senior army officers of raping her. She said, “I was sitting in a hospital room when a brigadier, wing commander, colonel, and several other officers entered. They locked the room and took away my phone.”

The video also shows the couple’s son in tears, speaking about the incident involving his mother. In the same footage, an Indian army officer is seen accusing Colonel Kumar of assault.
In a tweet, Colonel Kumar claimed that his wife was raped in the family ward of a military hospital by generals and brigadiers, and that video evidence of the incident exists.
He further alleged that he faced severe difficulties in registering a case against the officers involved, stating that the investigation was allegedly led by individuals who were themselves complicit in the crime.
Colonel Kumar emphasized in his posts that the assault was a premeditated and criminal act. He also pointed out that the hospital where the incident occurred has yet to release any official details regarding the matter.
In his tweets, Colonel Amit Kumar vowed to expose the officers involved and held the Modi government responsible for the military’s pressure campaign against him, citing the administration’s failure to address the issue properly.
