NEW DELHI: Two students of an engineering college in Bengaluru have been booked by local police for raising ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans.

According to local media reports, an inter-college fest was taking place at a private engineering college when students chanted slogans of their favourite IPL cricket teams. In the meantime, a boy and a girl shouted ‘Pakistan Zindabad’, drawing ire from other participants.
A student, recording the entre happening, posted the video on social media where from it went viral on internet.

Locals said the college management conducted an inquiry, took apology letters from the two students and suspended them.

Police said a case has been registered under sections 153 (provocation with intent to cause riot) and 505(1)B (with intent to cause fear to the public) of the Indian Penal Code. The Karnataka Police has spoken to the parents of the two students and a further investigation is underway.
