The nation is observing the 93rd birth anniversary of its former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto today.
Born on 5th January 1928, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto laid the basis for the democratic process in the country with the formation of the Pakistan People’s Party on 30th November 1967.
Bhutto was popular in the army, particularly among junior officers because of his loud nationalism and launching of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons programme after India conducted the first nuclear test. Bhutto was hanged to death by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
