Muslims globally rejoiced in Eid al-Fitr, commemorating the conclusion of the sacred month of Ramadan with prayers, joyous gatherings with loved ones, donning new attire, and indulging in sweet delicacies.
However, the festivities on Wednesday were cast under a shadow due to the escalating humanitarian plight in the Gaza Strip, coupled with Israel’s looming threat of a ground offensive in Rafah, the southernmost city, amidst the relentless six-month-long conflict.
Throughout Ramadan, as Muslims embraced the cherished customs of their respective communities, advocacy, prayers, and charitable efforts for the people of Gaza remained at the forefront of many minds, reflecting a collective concern for those affected by the ongoing crisis.
