LODHRAN: Senior PPP leader and Former Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has claimed that PTI Chief Imran Khan will not take the risk of dissolving Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies.
Talking to reporters in Lodhran soon after his arrival here the other day, Gilani said Imran Khan knew that if he dissolved the assemblies, then elections would only be held in the two provinces.
Yusuf Raza Gilani urged Imran Khan to sit with the coalition government unconditionally to sort out a new roadmap.
Talking about early elections, he said “when we demanded early elections while being in opposition, Imran Khan never agreed, what will be agreeing to his demand now?” Mocking about statements of CM Punjab regarding dissolution of assemblies, he said the CM would had no power to get an FIR registered (into Wazirabad shooting incident) would not go to the extent of dissolving provincial assembly.
Gilani claimed that the PTI was scared of huge cases against them, due to which they wanted early elections as a cover up. He said “we (opposition members) were subjected up to 10 years of imprisonment on small cases,” adding that Imran Khan was gravely mistaken to think that he would secure two-third majority in next elections.
