Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been assigned a new prison number following his conviction in the £190 million corruption case.
His previous prison number, 804, had become widely recognized and symbolic among Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters. However, this number was changed after his sentencing, and Khan was assigned a new number, which has not yet been publicly disclosed. Speculation has circulated on social media, with some jokingly suggesting that his new number is “420,” but this is simply a humorous remark with no factual basis.
Imran Khan, sentenced to 14 years in prison by the Accountability Court, was officially processed as a prisoner after the court’s decision. His wife, Bushra Bibi, was also sentenced to seven years in connection with the same corruption case. Both individuals were fined, and the court ordered the government to seize control of the Al-Qadir Trust and Al-Qadir University, which are linked to the couple.
Following the sentencing, Khan’s legal and logistical processing as a convict began, including the reassignment of his prison number. While his new number remains undisclosed, it marks the beginning of a new chapter in the former prime minister’s life behind bars.
Meanwhile, Bushra Bibi, who was arrested directly from the courtroom, was medically examined by prison doctors and underwent biometric verification. Sources within the prison have confirmed that, after completing the necessary legal and medical procedures, she will be transferred to the women’s barracks at Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail. A vehicle containing her personal belongings has already been dispatched to the prison to ensure her accommodation is fully prepared.
This development follows the high-profile convictions of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, which have sparked intense political and public debate. The case has become a focal point in Pakistan’s political and judicial narrative, drawing attention both domestically and internationally. The changing of Imran Khan’s prison number marks a symbolic moment in the ongoing saga surrounding the PTI leader’s legal battles.
