The Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi has dismissed a plea by PTI founder Imran Khan to have weekly WhatsApp calls with his sons.
Judge Malik Ejaz Asif heard the request on Monday, where the court was informed by the Adiala Jail administration that there is no provision in the jail manual for prisoners to communicate with relatives via WhatsApp.
According to the jail administration’s submission, Imran Khan is currently permitted to speak with his sons twice a month as per court orders. Following the administration’s response, Judge Malik Ejaz Asif dismissed the former Prime Minister’s appeal.
Khan’s sons, Qasim and Suleman, live in London with their mother and Imran Khan’s ex-wife, Jemima Khan. They have visited Pakistan many times; however, since Imran Khan’s arrest last year, they have not met him so far.
Some time ago, there were news reports that both Qasim and Suleman would visit Pakistan to meet their father in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, but the visit did not take place.
