Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan is reportedly facing severe health issues in jail as his blood sugar level has spiked while his heartbeat is also irregular.
PTI has expressed serious concern over reports of Imran Khan’s rising sugar level and irregular heartbeat and has urged the government to provide him access to medical facilities and allow doctors of his choice to examine him.
In a statement, the party’s Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram criticized the government for denying the PTI chief his “constitutionally mandated rights and facilities” as per the prison manual.
He said that the PTI founder was being deprived of all facilities under a scheme to break him physically and mentally. “Imran Khan’s health and well-being are of utmost importance to us and any negligence in providing medical care can have serious consequences,” he added.
Akram demanded the government to ensure Khan’s regular medical check-ups with ‘doctors of his choice. “Imran Khan should be allowed to communicate with his sons as it is his ‘fundamental, legal and constitutional right,” he maintained.
In the statement, he demanded the immediate release of Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi, former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, and other PTI leaders.
